SGRT FOR EVERY STEP: VISION RT SOLUTIONS SHINE AT ESTRO 2023

More than 400 radiation oncology professionals attended a Vision RT-sponsored symposium held as part of ESTRO’s annual meeting in Vienna, Austria.

The event, titled “SGRT: A Map to the Future” capped off an extremely successful ESTRO congress for Vision RT, which used the occasion of ESTRO 2023 to launch MapRT, its new SGRT planning solution.

The symposium featured three prominent clinical users of Vision RT’s Surface Guided Radiation Therapy solutions, talking about how they have evolved from their extensive use in motion management, to now offer benefits that help improve patient safety and quality of care at every step of the radiotherapy workflow: Sim, Treatment, Dose Visualisation and now, with MapRT….planning.

Tom Depuydt, PhD from UZ Leuven presented on the topic of “SGRT Across All Treatment Modalities” taking attendees through a tour of how deeply integrated Vision RT’s SGRT solutions are, throughout all of his clinics workflows.

Helen Convery, senior dosimetrist at Raigmore Hospital in Scotland, presented on their clinical research use of MapRT & its advantages for improving pre-treatment planning processes. “It captures the entire surface, and I do mean everything – the patient, the couch and the accessories,” she said, noting that they are using the solution is for “optimizing parameters and avoiding collisions.”

And David Gladstone, ScD, DABMP, FAAPM at Dartmouth presented on DoseRT, Vision RT’s breakthrough technology that combines Cherenkov Imaging with AlignRT® and Horizon cameras, providing real-time visualization of dose delivery and patient positioning to prevent errors and improve clinical outcomes. He presented on DoseRT’s ability to improve treatment quality and help with reduction of clinically significant errors.

In addition to the symposium, Vision RT maintained a vibrant booth present, delivering live product demos across the entire portfolio to hundreds of ESTRO attendees.
