Vision RT launches patient website that educates on radiation therapy treatment options
30 September 2019. Vision RT is excited to introduce its new website for patients, AlignRTEdu.com. This site is designed to empower patients and caregivers with the resources, knowledge, and support they need to help make an educated decision about their treatment options.
AlignRTEdu.com features general information about radiation therapy for many types of cancer, including breast, brain, lung, and pediatrics. It provides valuable information to patients and caregivers about potential radiation treatment side effects, such as cardiac risks for left breast cancer patients.
AlignRTEdu.com also contains information about clinics who use AlignRT® to avoid tattooing / marking patients. This is a growing trend in radiotherapy, responding to published data on the psychological impact of these marks. Links to patient advocacy resources and wellness, lifestyle, and treatment tips are also available on the site, together with a map of where many of the 1,100+ clinical systems can be found.
Norman Smith, CEO of Vision RT, said “Delivering shared decision-making to patients means educating them on the risks and benefits of different treatments. With the growing trend towards advanced forms of cardiac sparing and tattooless treatments, we’re pleased to be able to help in this education process with AlignRTEdu.com.”
