AlignRT used by 9 of the 10 “Best Hospitals for Cancer”
AlignRT is being used by nine of the ten “Best Hospitals for Cancer” and 80% of the top 50, according to the latest analysis by U.S. News and World Report.
The annual listing ranks 899 American hospitals according to statistics on cancer survival rates, patient experience and other data. Nine of the ten highest-ranked centers use Vision RT’s innovative technology, which tracks a patient’s position before and during radiation therapy, using Surface Guided Radiation Therapy (SGRT).
“We are really pleased to hear that our technology is being used in 9 of the 10 best cancer centers in the United States,” said Dr. Norman Smith, CEO of Vision RT. “Our SGRT technology has really become a key part of the new standard of care for radiation therapy by making treatments safer and more comfortable for patients, and more economical and efficient for hospitals. We know it isn’t a coincidence that more and more of the highest-ranked centers are taking advantage of these benefits.”
SGRT, pioneered by Vision RT, uses proprietary 3D stereo camera units to monitor a patient’s skin surface in real-time and compare it to the ideal position with sub-millimetric accuracy. This ensures that radiation is delivered only when a patient is correctly positioned, enhancing safety and comfort. AlignRT is non-invasive and completely non-contact, an increasingly important advantage for cancer patients, who often have weakened immune systems.
With 70 granted patents plus +50 pending, Vision RT continues to innovate in the radiation oncology space and are committed to making SGRT the standard of care for all patients, worldwide. There are more than 1,500 systems installed worldwide.
